Le immersioni subacquee sono diventate motivo per il quale molti turisti raggiungono il Salento per scoprire le numerose pareti subacquee, popolate da grosse cernie, aragoste, fitti banchi di barracuda, tantissime specie di nudibranchi; questi sono solo alcuni esempi di ciò che è possibile vedere mettendo la testa sotto il pelo dell'acqua. Per i più esperti e per chi pratica le immersioni tecniche, sarà possibile pianificare tuffi con profondità più impegnative per vedere e fotografare il corallo rosso di Leuca.

Davanti alla marina di Torre Vado si può visitare il relitto del Tevfik Kaptan 1, mercantile turco, lungo quasi novanta metri, affondato la mattina del 29 giugno del 2007 su un fondale di 20 metri. . La massiccia presenza di pesce azzurro rende il relitto una perfetta zona di caccia per le ricciole ed i barracuda, che spesso sono presenti in banchi.Inoltre ed è divenuta da subito meta per il turismo subacqueo essendo accessibile anche ai subacquei neofiti ma anche ai possessori della specialità di immersioni su relitto (wreck) che permette l'entrata negli spazi interni della nave.

In front of Torre Vado marina, you can visit the wreck of the Tevfik Kaptan 1, a Turkish merchant ship,almost ninety metres long, that sank on the morning of 29 June 2007 on a 20-metre seabed.. The massive presence of blue fish makes the wreck a perfect hunting ground for amberjacks and barracudas, which are often present in shoals, and it has immediately become a destination for underwater tourism, being accessible to novice divers as well as to holders of the wreck diving speciality, which allows them to enter into the interior spaces of the ship.
