Il museo della Stampa di Lecce

È una vera e propria “tipografia didattica”,dove il visitatore può utilizzare le antiche macchine e realizzare un attestato di partecipazione con le antiche tecniche tipografiche.

Il Museo nasce nel 2010 per volontà di Vincenzo Gilenardi e di molti maestri tipografi leccesi. Questo museo non rappresenta una mostra statica di macchine antiche, ma è una vera e propria tipografia didattica attorno al mondo e all’arte nobile e affascinante della stampa. La sua particolarità è appunto quella di essere un museo “vivente”: i visitatori che durante una vista guidata si recano a visitarlo, possono infatti usare le antiche macchine ed apprendere le diverse tecniche come la composizione a caratteri mobili, la stampa tipografica, il termorilievo, il rilievo a secco e la doratura a caldo.

The museum was founded in 2010 by Vincenzo Gilenardi and several Lecce master printers. This museum is not a static exhibition of antique machines, but a true didactic typography around the world and the noble and fascinating art of printing. Its peculiarity is precisely that of being a 'living' museum: visitors who come to visit it during a guided tour can in fact use the antique machines and learn the different techniques such as typesetting, letterpress printing, thermo-relief, dry relief and hot gilding.
